ATP Finals title match draws 6.7m viewers on Italian TV amid rising interest

The ATP said the Nitto ATP Finals championship match between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, played on 23 November and won by the Italian, drew more than 6.7 million viewers on linear television in Italy.

This is the highest figure among the publicly available Italian TV audience data for the season-ending event. By comparison, the 2024 final attracted about 5.2 million viewers on Rai2 and Sky Italia.

The increase aligns with stronger viewership across other major tournaments this year. The 2025 US Open men’s final between the same players averaged 3.3 million viewers in the United States on ABC — an 82% jump from the previous year.

Wimbledon also posted strong numbers. The 2025 men’s final peaked at 8.8 million viewers across BBC television and digital platforms, with up to 8.3 million watching on linear channel BBC One. In Italy, Sky and TV8 averaged 5.67 million viewers for the broadcast.

Available data points to a clear rise in interest in men’s tennis in key markets. Analysts attribute the trend to the continued appeal of the Alcaraz–Sinner rivalry and the broader expansion of tennis audiences across both TV and digital platforms.
