Head claims market leadership in European tennis racket sales

Head, the sports equipment manufacturer headquartered in Austria, has declared itself the leading tennis racket brand in Europe in 2024, citing strong performances from its sponsored athletes and a year of product innovation.
In a statement published on its official website, the company attributed its success to the achievements of brand ambassadors including Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Coco Gauff, and Barbora Krejcikova. Although Head did not disclose total sales figures or its precise share of the European market, it claimed the number one position on the continent. The brand reportedly held over 40% market share in Italy and nearly 60% in Austria.
Sinner, who endorses the Head Speed series, ended the season as world number one, having captured titles at the Australian Open, US Open, and ATP Finals. Half of the ATP Finals singles field were Head-sponsored athletes, including Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, and Andrey Rublev.
On the women’s side, Krejcikova won her maiden Wimbledon singles title and qualified for the WTA Finals, where Gauff secured her first title at the event. Novak Djokovic’s first Olympic gold, described by the company as a milestone moment, added further prestige to the Speed Legend racket he endorses.
Head’s Executive Vice President of Racquetsports, Ottmar Barbian, emphasised the role of product development alongside athlete success. “Our team developed and launched some outstanding products in 2024 that resonated with players across Europe,” he said, highlighting both the Speed and Speed Legend lines.
In addition to its gains in racket sales, the company reported robust demand for its tennis balls — particularly in France, where it led the market — as well as significant growth in its string business.
