A new deal with a strategic investor has provided insight into the valuation of Rafael Nadal’s main business after his playing career.

Nadal has sold 44.9% of his academy’s shares to the Spanish investment firm GPF Capital for €94.1 million, but this does not mean he has stepped back from developing young tennis talents. On the contrary, the move signals plans for expansion and entry into new markets.

GPF Capital specializes in acquiring significant equity stakes without taking full control, supporting business growth and increasing value. This makes the deal a strategic partnership aimed at long-term development.

“I am pleased with what we have achieved so far,” Nadal said. “This success paves the way for international expansion with the support of GPF, which shares our values, vision, and enthusiasm.”

The transaction also sheds light on Nadal Academy’s estimated value. Based on the deal, its current capitalization stands at $217,49 million — surpassing the total prize money Nadal earned in his career, which amounts to approximately $134 million.

Founded in 2016 in Mallorca, the Rafael Nadal Academy has grown into one of the world’s leading training centers for young tennis players, combining sports development with academic education. In recent years, it has expanded with branches in Kuwait, Greece, and Mexico, with further locations planned.

However, Nadal Academy is not just for young players. It also offers programs for adults, including amateur training, wellness services, and leisure experiences at state-of-the-art sports facilities.
